Patricia “Pat” Abraham (nee Marcella), age 73, was someone who knew how to enjoy life. She loved music, spending time with family and friends, and simply being part of whatever was happening around her. Pat had a warmth and presence that made people feel comfortable, and she had a way of making the people she met feel like they mattered.

Her faith and her parish were also an important part of her life. Pat was a longtime and active member of St. Augustine Church, where she gave generously of her time. For many years, she was the weekend receptionist, a familiar and welcoming face to those who came through the parish doors. She also volunteered with the St. Augustine Seniors and the St. Augustine Blind Community. Pat did not simply belong to St. Augustine, she became part of the life and family of the parish. Her familiar face, her willingness to help, and her friendship with so many will be missed.

Pat was the loving mother of Beverly Sanders Swan and Thomas Sanders, and the proud grandmother of Matthew Swan, Nathan Swan, and Annelise Sanders. She was the great grandmother of Silas, who brought another special joy to her life.

She was the beloved sister of Joe (the late Debbie), Sandy (George) Tuma, Ron, Debbie (Eddie) Kawecki, Linda (Michael) Schmitt, Peggy (Pete) Kepich, Bobby, Ann Marie (Sam) Bixler, John, and Terry (Russ) Schmidt. Pat was also a special aunt and great aunt to many and was blessed with a large family that remained an important part of her life.

Pat will be remembered for her love of music, her enjoyment of life, her love for her family, and the many ways she shared her time and herself with others. For those at St. Augustine, she will always be remembered as one of the familiar faces who helped make the parish feel like home.
