Robert “Bob” M. Ambro, Sr., age 77, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Bob was the beloved husband of the late Kimberly and will be remembered for his quiet generosity and willingness to serve others.

He was the father of Kimberly O’Neill, Robert M. Ambro, Jr., and John J. Ambro. He was the grandfather of Nicolas Doehrman and Jayme Doehrman.

Bob was the loving brother of Sr. Corita Ambro, CSJ, and the late Dorothy Bender and Edward Ambro.

A graduate of St. Edward High School, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army. Throughout his life he believed in helping others and giving back to his community. For many years he spent his time working with teenagers and cooking meals for those on the margins at St. Augustine Church, offering care and dignity through simple acts of kindness.

In his younger years, Bob enjoyed playing tennis, fishing, and spending time on his boat, where he could relax and spend time reflecting.

Bob's wishes were to be cremated without a formal funeral mass. The 11 AM Mass on Sunday, April 12th will be offered in Bob's memory at St. Augustine Church, 2486 W. 14th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44113.

Bob will be remembered for his service to others, his steady presence, and the compassion he showed through his actions.
